Craftsman Drill Case
Craftsman Portable Power Drill…are these just disposable???
So my 5 year old Craftsman 14.4v drill is starting to not hold power. I put the batteries in the charger and after a few minutes the red light is out. Leaving them all night produces only a little charge, just enough to tease. So I don’t know if it’s the batteries or charger.
So I go to Sears and find batteries are $39.99 and a charger is also $39. That’s over $120 to replace what I have in batteries and the charger
There is a 14.4v drill on sale with charger, two batteries and a case for $49. Duh!
Should I just expect to buy a new one every few years?
It’s just used for light duty around the house and it worked great for several years.
I have a heavy duty corded drill for actual drilling projects.
I had exactly the same problem and found that it was just the battery i upgraded to a nickel- cadmium battery and it lasted me many more years after that, when i came to purchase a new drill i decided to go for dewalt, I’ve still got it now and its battery has showed no sign of power loss so if you intend to buy a new drill all i can say is buy DeWalt, they are brilliant but a little pricey, you’re problem seems to be the battery though.And yes today is a throw way society.
